SPAIN DEFEAT ARGENTINA TO WIN SECOND FIFA WORLD CUP TITLE

July 20, 2026

Spain have won their second FIFA World Cup title after defeating Argentina 1-0 in the final at the MetLife Stadium, New Jersey, on Sunday. Ferran Torres scored the decisive goal deep into extra-time to seal victory for the European champions.

Spain created the better chances throughout the match, while Argentina relied largely on defensive tactics and were reduced to 10 men after Enzo Fernandez was sent off in stoppage time following a second yellow card.

Torres became Spain’s hero after converting Nico Williams’ header in the 106th minute, beating goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez with a powerful close-range strike to secure the historic triumph.
