OLUYEDE REJECTS EKITI POLL RESULT AS ADC CANDIDATE ALSO DISMISSES OUTCOME

June 24, 2026

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in the June 20 Ekiti State election, Wole Oluyede, has rejected the outcome of the poll declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). His position was conveyed in a statement issued on Monday in Ado-Ekiti by the Director of Media and Communications of the Oluyede Campaign Organisation, Sanya Atofarati.

INEC had declared incumbent Governor Biodun Oyebanji of the APC as the winner of the election with 319,224 votes. Oluyede came second with 40,543 votes, while the ADC candidate, Dare Bejide, secured 12,872 votes. A total of 15 political parties participated in the election.

Oluyede’s rejection of the result comes after ADC candidate Dare Bejide also dismissed the outcome of the poll, describing the election as lacking credibility. Bejide stated that he rejected the result in its entirety, insisting that the exercise conducted on Saturday did not meet the standard of a credible election.
