OLUREMI TINUBU ASSURES NIGERIANS OF FG’S COMMITMENT TO SECURITY

June 02, 2026

Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has assured that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is committed to strengthening national security through internal measures and partnerships with countries like the United States. She said the government is intensifying efforts to tackle kidnapping, banditry, and terrorism across the country.

Speaking in Ekiti State during a meeting with traditional rulers, she praised their support for the administration and highlighted ongoing social interventions under her Renewed Hope Initiative, including scholarships, ICT development, and empowerment programmes for vulnerable groups.

Ekiti monarchs, led by Oba Adejimi Adu Alagbado, commended the initiatives but urged a review of kidnapping laws for stricter punishment and called for the creation of state police to improve security response.
