May 27, 2026
,The Independent National Electoral Commission has introduced new technological innovations aimed at reducing electoral fraud and improving transparency ahead of the 2026 Ekiti State Governorship Election.
Speaking during the forum, the Head of ICT/IVR in Ekiti State, Deride Titilayo, explained that the commission has continued to improve its electoral technology over the years. According to her, earlier systems such as the Direct Data Capture machine and Smart Card Reader helped improve elections but were not sufficient in completely addressing electoral malpractice.
