The Federal Government has said 65 of the 69 ambassadors-designate appointed by President Bola Tinubu have received the approval of their host countries, paving the way for them to formally assume their diplomatic responsibilities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday by its spokesperson, Kimiebi Ebienfa, describing the process of securing diplomatic clearance, known as agrément, as progressing smoothly in line with international practice.

According to the ministry, the majority of Nigeria’s ambassadors have already arrived in their respective host countries and presented their Letters of Credence, officially commencing their duties as the country’s principal diplomatic representatives.
