FG, EU RENEW COMMITMENT TO STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP TO BOOST INVESTMENT AND ECONOMIC GROWTH
June 29, 2026
The Federal Government and the European Union have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening their strategic economic partnership to boost investment, expand trade, and drive sustainable economic growth. The pledge was made during the 10th Nigeria–EU Business Forum in Abuja, where government officials and European partners highlighted ongoing economic reforms aimed at encouraging private sector-led development.
Speaking at the forum, the EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, Gautier Mignot, described the event as the first major milestone since both parties upgraded their relationship to a strengthened Strategic Partnership during the EU–Nigeria Ministerial Meeting in March 2026. He noted that stronger policy coordination is expected to attract more investment and support Nigeria’s long-term economic growth.
