EKITI GOVT DENIES INVOLVEMENT IN ALLEGED ABDUCTION, DETENTION OF OLAWUMI

The Ekiti State Government has denied any involvement in the alleged abduction, arrest or detention of Mrs. Abimbola Olajumoke Olawumi, describing reports linking the state to the incident as false. The disclaimer was issued by the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dayo Apata, SAN.


The government stated that it neither ordered nor had knowledge of any police action involving Olawumi, stressing that law enforcement agencies operate independently and carry out their duties without interference from the state authorities.


The Attorney General reaffirmed that the current administration respects the rule of law, personal liberty and the rights of citizens, while urging members of the public and the media to disregard reports suggesting that the Ekiti State Government was connected to the matter.
