The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has given companies until August 1, 2026, to comply with statutory requirements governing business letters, warning that firms that fail to meet the deadline will face sanctions. The directive applies to all companies registered under the Companies and Allied Matters Act (CAMA) 2020 or any law repealed by the Act.

The commission said the enforcement is in line with Sections 304(1) and (2) and 729(1)(c) of CAMA 2020. It urged affected companies to ensure their business letters comply with the legal requirements before the deadline to avoid regulatory penalties.

The CAC stressed that the move is aimed at strengthening corporate compliance and promoting transparency in business operations. It advised all registered companies to review their documentation and take the necessary steps to meet the statutory obligations within the stipulated timeframe.
