ADO-EKITI COURT JAILS TWO MEN 30 DAYS FOR PUBLIC NUDITY

July 18, 2026

An Ado-Ekiti Chief Magistrate Court has sentenced two men, Adebiyi Olusola and Oguntola John, to 30 days' imprisonment for public nudity. The duo pleaded guilty to a one-count charge of conduct likely to cause a breach of the peace after they were arrested while walking naked around the Palace area and a public highway in Ado-Ekiti on July 13.

Delivering judgment, Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adosun held that the prosecution proved its case beyond reasonable doubt and sentenced both men to 30 days in prison without the option of a fine. Prosecutors said the incident occurred at about 4 a.m. and was capable of causing a breach of public peace.
